Hello all---
I just purchased a MY00 S2K. Exterior is Red; interior is black. The car is mint with only 5,968 miles. I'm the second owner and can't be happier.
I'm down in the Naperville/Plainfield/Oswego area. Anyone else close? I'm not driving the car until the spring, but am looking to swap out the tranny and diff fluid before then. Anyone interested/able to help? I have a heated garage, so you wouldn't freeze
Anyway---also looking at the front lip and the side strakes. Considering an exhaust an intake, too. Need to replenish some funds first though

Holy crap! Nice find....a MY2000 with less than 6000 miles on it. There's a lot of info on this site regarding maintenance and quite a few of us that have a bit of experience working on these cars, so don't be afraid to ask for advise or even a helping hand.

Welcome! Nice find!! Just out of curiosity I have a couple questions. Do you know how many times the previous owner changed the oil in the last 6,000 miles / 7 years? Also how did you find this car (where was it advertised?)

He changed it every year since 2000---he had every receipt included in the sale. It also had the tail light, seat belt retractor and spark plug recall performed.
It was on Ebay for almost a month. I called him since he was in Bloomington, Illinois. We struck a deal and now it's in my garage.
I spent 9 hours today buffing it out and removing the "dead" paint. It's in great shape! I guess it should be with 5,900 miles, right?

Congrats on the purchase. THe car looks cherry. I am located in Glen Ellyn and have an 05 S2K. I have about 16,000 miles on her and finally got a company car the beginning of January so now it is officially my toy and summer car. Gook Luck

wow only 6k miles?! on a 7 year old car?! nice find! i'm from that area, but don't live there anymore (in chicago now). tranny and diff fluid changes are very easy, just follow the tutorials in the "under the hood" forum. squeezing the fluid back into the car gave me some problems at first, but i got the hang of it after the first time.
