Oil change
I'm near 3,000 miles and need recomendation of a dealership to take my car for oil change. I'd ask someone to help me but I understand everyone has pretty tight schedule. Pinyo, you have a shop right? maybe you can do it for me. I don't care if you charge me as much or more by .1 cent as the dealer j/k. I know I can trust your work more than the dealership tech guys and piece of mind will be more than worth it.
But, and this is a big but, if anyone else would be able to help me out on this it would be great. If not and Pinyos doesn't workout dealership it is
just a reminder: I'm not handy when it comes to cars. I could probably do some minor stuff like oil change but do not have the confidence or courage to do it, somehow I always think I'll mess up on the other hand if some one shows me or teach me the proper way I'll get around on doing it on my own the next time.
Taking my car to the dealership really worries me.
Locals please help!

Johnny,
Come by my place. All I ask is that you bring the oil, the oil filter, and the beer (j/k about the beer).
When's good for you? I can get you into UrmilWerx either Friday later afternoon all the way to early, early Saturday morning, or anytime on Sunday.
You have my number?

Urmil,
Let me start by saying thanks.
Late friday afternoon around 4 is perfect as my Dr.'s appointment ends at 3.
right now i'm using mobil 1 supersyn when I'm running low on oil, will that be ok to use for the change?
oil filter from dealership ok? anything else I need?
I don't have your # and address. If you're going to ginos tomorrow night I'll just get it from you then. If not and if you don't mind just PM me. Or what ever makes it easier for you.
Schedules change if somehow your not able I truly
understand.
thanks

Johnny,
make sure you get the right oil filter as some honda dealerships do not carry the proper one..
More info on that here:

From what I read, most people use dino instead of synthetic until 7-10k miles..

Sometimes Pinyo scares me.
If I'd seen this sooner, I would have also offered to help you out with this one. It's pretty easy overall.
I reccomend Castrol GTX 10w30. Because of the design of the engine it can take up 10,000mi or so to fully break-in. Synthetic oil offers TOO much lubrication durring this time and can prolong the break-in process. Also the car will tend to burn oil as the oil gets past the rings. The thinner synthetic oil will tend to let more get by than a dyno oil. Plan to use conventional oil for the first 10,000mi or until the engine stops burning oil. Then switch to synthetic.
Now, I know what you are thinking (or perhaps what you should be thinking
) the Viper and the 'Vette come with Mobil 1 Synthetic from the factory, neither of those cars use a ceramic sleeve for the cylindar walls. The S2000 is very different from either of those cars, and that is why the break-in is different.

Johnny,
I'll see you tonight.
If you go to the dealership to go buy oil filters, make sure you get the Honda "PCX" filter.
I use Purolator brand on mine (I think it's their "Pure One"). I've had no issues with the filter.
I'd also suggest staying with conventional dino oil (Mobil 1 is good) for at least 10k miles as Pete's stated. Go to synthetic after that if you wish. I'm on 50K miles and have been using dino oil for the majority of it.

I meant to say Mobil oil (the one in the blue bottles) not Mobil 1 (the one in the grey/silver bottles).
I will be using Castrol Syntec next oil change. I use it in the BMW, so just to minimize the types of stuff I keep in the garage, I will switch the S2000 over.
