Default Oil Drain Valve

Have any of ya installed the oil drain valve where you flip it and the oil plug is open ?

If so, have you encountered any problems and what manufacturer do you use.

I figure I need to change my oil soon and I'd put one of these on then to make future changes quicker.

i just bought and received one from fumoto. it seems pretty well built, and they state they have like 200,000+ (or 2 million+?) in the field w/no problems so that's a pretty good track record. i haven't put mine on yet, though.

I had one....I was one of the very few that developed a leak. The leak did not come from the fitting it self. The ball seat valve that opens and closes ended up leaking. The leak wasn't anything major, it was probably a drop or two of oil after each drive on the ground....but it wsa enough for me to get rid of it.

I still recommend it though. Like I said, I was the one of VERY few people that had issue. I didn't replace due to my experience with the first one, and for the fact that getting to our oil bolt isn't that difficult....especially if you have an aftermarket intake on the car.

I have one on my both my S2K and my WRX, both for only a short time so far but I love them.

One thing to be aware of, some people in the past have had problems when first installing them by overtorquing the fitting. It's made of soft brass and will break of you wrench on it like a gorilla.

Thanks. I just ordered one.

So in a few months I'll post how I ran over road kill and left a 2mile long oil slick to be stranded in some sh!tty neighborhood.
