Default Open letter of resignation

As November 2nd approaches we hear daily on the media that it is time for a change. The same holds true in the Upper Midwest Forum. Effective immediately, I resign as forum moderator a/k/a baby-sitter. Anyone wishing to be UMW forum moderator and/or CO should notify cthree.

Before leaving I would like to say a few things. I love the S2000. Presently I have broken bones in my hand, foot, and ribs from a 17 year old totaling my MG but I

First, let me wish you well in your recovery ... my biggest fear when driving some of those 50's and 60's British Motor Cars was the lack of protection from contact with larger vehicles. To me the S2000 is the "ultimate healey sprite" ... offering the fun of an open roadster with greater protection and fantastic performance.

Secondly, I want to thank you for your input and insight with regard to this forum, this board, and this vehicle. I have benifited from your contributions and your informative responses to my questions as well as others.

I hope you will continue to jump in as you feel appropriate and not simply sit on the sidelines ... your knowledge, experience, and opinions are welcome.

Wishing only the best for one of the best ...

My sympathies regarding your accident Dave, and I'm sorry that you've decided to move on... but change is inevidable in life. I personally know how much organizing an event like the freshwater tour can take out of you, and I respect the efforts you've put over the past couple years...

I only hope that whomever steps up to replace you- is dedicated to effort.

We should start taking nominations within this thread-

I nominate Shift9k... Damon is obviously a leader of this forum.

Again, sorry to hear bout the accident.

Hope you have a better time complaining. Lets see who they pick for a mod here, since no one here really gets along with the management.

Dave,

I wish you a speedy recovery! I hope you are back to normal soon!

As far as the forum goes, do not take it personally that this place is not bustling with activity. I would like to suggest that there is a large number of people in this area that are just plain unhappy with the direction that the "club" has taken over the last few years. Also, many of us are fed up with the way that the "administration" runs this place. Business is business, and I know that making enough money to keep this "club" functioning is most important. But, the "administration" seems to have done their best at "banning" good people for apparently stupid resons and alienating many excellent sponsors. Atleast this is the way it comes across to most of us. There are also much better alternatives out there now. Honda-tech.com is one that comes to mind. Until things change around here and become a lot less political and a lot more friendly, I do not see the situation changing.

It was good to meet you and I am glad you have stayed true to the car, as so many have found it to be a status vehicle, and have turned it into the the Honda Rice replacement, for the Civics and Integras.

I too am glad you are recovering. Planning events and trying to get people together, is a tough thing to do. Seems like you have done a good job.

I'd pitch in, however I am busy with my own site, and things, and honestly, anyone who is very motivated to do things on here, seems to be turned off by some of the site leadership.

I will be glad to help plan the next spring/summer tour, if I still have my car.
