I love the difference in the wheel gap.

Speaking of Corvettes...funny story:

Last night at 10pm or so I am sitting in my apt. watching TV and I hear what sounds like a car doing a burnout. It went for so long and got so loud that I concluded that it couldn't be a car. Sure enough I look outside and I see a silver C5 going down the road in my subdivision at around 5mph leaving behind this huge cloud of white smoke. He kept going for another 200 yards or so. There was a Grand Am stuck behind him getting totally immersed in the smoke. My apt. stunk like burnt rubber

This morning on my way to work there is a nice set of tire tracks and as I was driving along a cop was following the tire tracks towards where the C5 went

ruexp67,
When were you at Grattan? I was just there on May 5th. I posted some pixs here: http://www.widestance.com/photos/thu...s.php?album=34. The Z06 looks great though.

Regards,
Christopher

Great shots, Pete! What kind of laptimes were you running?

same track, different century:

in the bowl (t8):

just before the bowl (between t7 & 8)

same place, just getting "stuffed"

(the blue shirt over my leathers in the last 2 pics indicates I was in my first race after getting my race license)

Nice shots guys!

Christopher, I was there on April 29-30. Good times for sure.

Scott, it takes some REAL balls to drive a bike in a race. I have no idea about my laptimes. Even though I got a VERY nice laptimer for my birthday, the Audi club did not allow any kind of timing devices to be used.

If anyones showing a bulge, it's you, bro

Although I've considered it, I'm still too chicken to take a car out on the track. I'll bump wheels all day long at CIR, and I'll even risk a few grey hairs and my $1000 fair market value racebike rubbing elbows in a motorcycle race, but there's simply no freakin' way I've got enough sack to put a $35k car out there. There have been incidences at bike races where the track is wet and they'll let folks out on the track to speed the drying; I won't even risk that. As it is I think I age a year every time I come close to tagging a cone at AutoX.

With regard to laptimes, I'm not surprised in the slightest that the club would ban timing devices; it's most likely stipulated in their insurance. At motorcycle trackdays, under similar circumstances, I set up a camcorder to run non-stop for the session and then go back when the day is over and run a stopwatch on the film.

I hope someday I'll have it in me to track my S.

Scott, take the day off on June 2nd and head down to Autobahn. Bring a helmet, and I'll take you around the track a few times. It might help ease your fears if you see it from inside the car.

I just might take you up on this as it's a rare occasion that I'm actually able to get away and so far, no one has actually stolen that day of my life from me

Moto helmet ok? If so, is Snell 95 rating sufficient?

Thanks for the invite!
