Can anyone recommend a good mechanic in Chicago? I have a funny scratching/creaking sound coming from the rear of the car that I mentioned here:

and I'm not sure if it is the diff. Grossingers on the north side wants nearly 4k to replace the diff (they first wanted over $6k), so I might be looking for help to do the job myself if it is the diff or I might want to take it to a reputable mechanic.

Puddy diff?

 

I'll be buying one of his diffs if my stock diff is indeed bad. A few guys have recommended that I check the calipers and axle nuts before jumping into a diff project. Regardless, I'll need assistance with both if you know of someone local in Chicago.
