Default SCCA The Learning Curve 2014

Unless I am mistaken, the Chicago Region SCCA runs this program annually. I couldn't make it last year, but I'm itching to go this year. Unfortunately their website for The Learning Curve still reflects the 2013 date.

Does anyone here know if/when this will happen in 2014?

The dragstrip just finalized their schedule for 2014, so the Chicago Region SCCA Solo schedule should be posted soon. I would imagine it will be the first weekend in April like it was last year.

Yeah too early for 2014 dates to be posted. I cant wait for autox to start, even though I still need better front tires for that lol.

I did it last year and it was a blast. You get a run after run after run. Short courses, but easier to learn and correct mistakes. You have an instructor with you at all times. I wish it wasn't just for first timers.

I did it last year as well. They split the group up into two, and we each ran a small course, right around 30 seconds. After some time, we switched courses. I probably got a good 20+ runs in the first day. The following day they run it like a real event with a full course.

Dates have been posted, April 5th & 6th.

Hey guys, yes dates are posted. And this is one of the best Autocross beginner events in the entire Midwest. Ive been instructing at it for the past 6 or so years!
Time line goes as follows:
Sat: 7:30a classroom session starts
Around 9 instructor/student parings (tech/walk around/numbers)
Around 9:30-10 "first car off" -groups are split into 3 run groups and each group gets about 30-45min (of constant running) on each course. There are two courses set up, so there is a work group. Lunch is provided after the first "heat". We continue to run until 5.
Sun: Sunday is run as a "mock event". The two seperate courses are combined into 1 full course. Still in 3 run groups, we just run three big heats with usually around 6 runs per driver.
Any other questions, feel free to ask! For the amount of seat time we give this is a great deal!
