Shop Recommendations for Welding
While replacing the front brakes a few nights ago I inspected the upper a-arm brackets for tear-away (as noted here:pbase & s2ki thread), and found the inevitable. I guess a few years of autocross with 245 front Hoosiers did not trest the car very well.
So, does anyone have a shop recommendation to weld this bracket into place? I would like to have this finished before the TSSCC event on the 24th & 25th.
Thanks.

Its just MIG welding. pretty much any shop should be able to do it.
I forgot about AMS, somehow I only think of them in context of Mitsus. I'll give them a call.
Any cagebuilders in the area?
Thanks.

Unfortunatly, I've seen shops produce some pretty poor looking welds. I've also been told of an experience where a poor weld didn't hold, and the bracket was rewelded by another shop (neither local).

Maybe if we knew where you were physically located we could specify a (non-shitty) shop near you.
If you get AMS to reweld those brackets, you may as well ask and pay them to fab up some extra support/bracing for the upper control arm mounts. Beef it up now, or it could start tearing away with more drive time.

It looks like I confused everyone. My request for a local cagebuilder was to find a shop capable of welding rather than have a cage built.
As for added reinforcements, they are not allowed for SCCA stock class as the TSB only covers the seam weld around part of the bracket.
I am located in Oak Brook, and have found my way to AMS a few times, but any recommendations for other non-shitty shos would be appreciated.
Thanks.
