Default Visiting Chicago

Hey everyone,

from june 29th-july 5th i'm going to visit my girlfriend in chicago. Her brother has never been in a convertible or a go-kart style one for that matter that has 240 hp.

basically i was going to take him out for a ride, was looking at some wind farms (read another thread in the windy city sub topic) like the one in paw paw

i was just wondering if some1 could suggest a place to go with some twisties that i could show her bro a good time (he's having a tough time in school right now .. or did before he finished this year.. and i wanted just to go out and give him a fun ride)

also
i'm coming in from Buffalo (10 hour drive) along rt 90 and some other road thru ohio and indiana
so if any one knows any good places to eat thru cleveland or the upper part of indiana that advice would be much appreciated as well

Thanks for the help everyone!

Steve

Hey man

I just made that drive going the other way-- Milwaukee to NYC and then back again three days later. Good driving but it took me 17 hours each way-- you may be a little optimistic looking at 10. Not sure how much closer Buffalo is but certainly a trek.

When we were on the way out to the city we stopped and ate at a little hole in the wall in Cuyahoga Falls, OH (about 15 minutes off 80 near Akron) called Flury's Cafe-- address is:

1300 Sackett Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223-2353

Really good Cuban Sandwich, mac 'n cheese was delish too. If you go tell them that the two guys who were headed out to NYC a few weeks ago in the yellow convertible say hello and thanks again for the great meal.

As I'm in Milwaukee I don't know too much about the driving in Chicago but I'm sure someone here can chime in and help out.

Safe travels bud, enjoy the ride!

Cheers
Charlie

awesome sounds great!

yea buffalo is completely on the opposite end of the state as NYC (right by lake erie) so its about 7 hours closer than NYC hehe

google told me about 10 hours so i'll probably (depending on traffic) be able to do it in like 9 or 8.5

thanks for the suggestion if i stop i'll be sure to tell them you say thanks again

Some local twisties that come to mind are,

Sheridan Road Northbound 355, through Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, pretty much all the way north through Kenosha Wisconson, nice like drive. etc.. some nice little twisties there but there might be some construction going on and the road surface does have potholes so you gotta watch out.

Not sure what you're used to, but Chicago (area) isn't the greatest place to find twisties. Most of our roads are straight and flat.

awesome, i mean i'm not talking about the dragon or anything, just some fun little roads to enjoy.

thanks a ton i'll be sure to check some of the roads out. i think i'm gong to go to Paw Paw (or what ever the name of the town with the wind farm is) seems like it would be fun to see. I'm actually going to Wheaton and then spending a lot of time in the city. but i thought taking my girl's brother out for a nice day drive might be fun

thanks for the help everyone!
