Visiting Chicago
My little brother attends the 2 week camp each summer at The Second City and this time I've decided to come along with the family. I'll be there tomorrow (Monday) through Friday.
What I need to know is where are the cool spots to take pictures at, mainly city scapes and good views of the city on the water. I've never been before and I want to come back with some good pics! Oh and anything car related going on while I'll be out there stuck with the fam? lol.

The best thing for city scape pictures is to seriously walk around the outskirts of the city till you find something good, works every time
Other wise just get into the heart of the city, you can come up with some good stuff if your a good photographer.

A few good photo spots:
The loading dock area behind Whole Foods Market at Canal and Roosevelt (may be blocked off / cost money now)
Museum Campus area (many spots around Soldier's Field, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and the Shedd Aquarium)
Several off the parks / parking lot areas along Lake Shore Drive.
Lower Wacker Drive (pull off on one of the side streets for a very cool urban scene) Even if you don't take pictures here, you should definitely drive it; just be careful! Trust me, this is coming from someone with first-hand experience of what happens if you aren't careful enough on that road.
Some of the side streets around Halsted and Milwaukee, if memory serves me correctly, are host to some sweet rusted railroad bridges and things while allowing you to get some of the city in the background.

It's too bad you can't extend your stay through Saturday..... HIN will be here.

Get out to Schaumburg on Thursday night too.... there are two meets there:
1) S2Ki UMW (us)
2) NASIOC (huge Subaru meet)
If you want to get some sick photos, take an architectural boat tour around dusk... just make sure your camera is up to the task

Can I get some info on that architectual boat tour.
I live in Chicago and knew nothing about that. I just spent all kinds of cash on my girlfriends camera so that would be cool to take her to snap some pics.

I like the Wendella Tour. It goes down the river, then back up the river, through the lochs and onto the lake. They are located at Michigan Ave and the River.
There are also a LOT of boat tours that leave from Navy Pier.
