So, as some of you may know, I apparently ****'ed up my transmission, losing 6th gear, which luckily still leaves the car drivable for the city, I get horrible gas mileage going anywhere longer distance. I was just feeling better about that when today I realized my OEM AP1 wheels with Kumho Ecsta ASX tires were apparently stolen right from my apartment's "secure" underground parking garage spot.

I want to let all of you know to keep an eye out for these wheels. Also, just watch the heck out no matter what. I thought I lived in a very nice, secure apartment complex, but then these got swiped right out from under me. It's partially my fault for not securing them better, but considering some of the stuff in this parking garage, I thought I'd be fine. Plus, I figured it'd be a huge pain to steal four wheels / tires considering the layout of the garage.

Maybe I'm just complaining for sympathy, but this is on top of some other ****ty family stuff and my personal financial situation not being quite as swell as I'd like has just made me kinda pissed lately.

Yikes! OEM AP1 wheels? but why?

Not saying they look bad or anything, I actually like them, but they dont hold a whole lot of value. I feel secure enough in the fact that our garage Im in had video cameras. Was your lot indoors or outdoors? Did they alteast put your cars on wheels or just drop it on the ground?

My girlfriends Civic SI got OEM wheels stolen from the car in her drive way and she came out and it was sitting on the frame

Then my friend at PITT had his El Camino stolen and they found it 2 towns over with the stereo system and wheels gone, but they left him 4 spare tires with 2 lugs on each haha!

GFunk (my neighbor - same complex, different building) is parked in underground parking. He currently has slipstreams on his car, and was keeping his oem's (for winter tires) next to his parking spot. Like he said, it's a relatively nice neighborhood and building. The garage is pretty secure from the outside world, so I imagine some shady neighbor in his building drove by and threw the wheels in their trunk (no, it wasn't me).

I have a similar parking situation in the building next to his. Years ago when I was living at home, my subwoofer was stolen from my rsx when my mom left our garage door open. I learned the hard way that people are freaking animals. I'd say most people wouldn't go out of their way to steal, but I'm surprised at the number of people that will take anything that's not bolted down. I've got my race tires and jack, which are sitting next to my car, chained up - and usually 1 race tire lives in my trunk (who wants to steal 3 tires?).

Gfunk - did you ever find out if there are camera's in the garages?

Thanks a bunch guys. Like my parents sometimes say "It's only money...", and while that can suck at the moment, down the line, it might not be as big of an issue. Perhaps it's my fault for not locking them up in some manor, but I felt our indoor, underground parking garage was pretty secure. I'm wondering if the building people might have moved it due to "improper storage" or something, too.

Pat - Not yet, but I'm going to talk to the management office today and see if they have cameras (probably at least one at the main entrance / exit). I think it happened when the door was left open all day a few days ago, but I've just been out and about, so I hadn't noticed until yesterday.

Sorry to hear about that, Just be glad they didnt damage your car to steal them. The situation gets alot worse when the top is slashed just so some prick can steal your cd's or radar detector.

Just got a text from Gfunk - the management company moved his tires because we're not allowed to keep tires down there. Where the hell am I supposed to put my tires now! Please redirect all your sympathy from Gfunk to me.
