Default Who's down to put lead down range?

Hello everyone,

I don't post much but just wanted to see if anyone in the S community are gun enthusiast that like to go to the ranges. I go often almost every week but it gets boring when you go by yourself and my girl doesn't always want to come with. It's getting nicer out and wanna take my AR outdoor. I used to go to Gun world but they're close due to the O'hare expansion and still waiting for them to be open in their new location. Right now I go Maxons in Des Plaines which is pretty good since they allow rifles. As for outdoors I usually go to McMiller sports in Wisconsin border or Buffalo Range in Otawwa,IL This would be perfect because we can cruise on the way to the ranges. Most of us on this site are 21+ so I thought there has to be fellow gun enthusiasts in the S community. So who's down for some range time? anyone

The allowance for rifles at Maxon's is a mixed blessing. The last time I was there, there was a douchebag firing a shotgun at 9yd paper targets, and I could feel some of the ricochet shot hitting my legs. Plus rifles are a LOT louder than any pistol, so if I am going to shoot rifles, I'd prefer an outdoor range.

That said, I could be down for putting some ragged holes in paper targets with pistols. I usually go to GAT in Dundee, but I haven't been to the range in over a year.

I also like to shoot clay pigeons in Joliet. There is a shooting range there that is open to the public and free. You have to bring your own thrower, but that's always fun too.

I live pretty close to McMiller and used to go frequently. However, shooting paper targets is only so much fun and gets boring after awhile. I miss being able to shoot cans, vegetables, fruits and other fun stuff.

Either way, I am always up for shooting!

I'm up for it, let's put something together.

I'm in a pistol league and we shoot at the Highland park and Gurnee police ranges. I will shoot at Maxon if I have to.

I shoot trap at Northbrook Trap & Skeet which is a private club but I also go to the CCKC range in Bristol WI.

I trap shoot at Silver Springs in Yorkville. I'm down to meet up for shooting. I shoot a Mossberg Pump 20 gauge and a Mossberg 935 Semi Auto 12 gauge. my girl loves trap shooting, though its prolly bad she can use a gun by herself now lol but also looking for handgun range, theres only JR shootin sports in aurora and mega something or other in plainfield, those are the closest to me for handguns

We definitely need to set something up. I'm guessing something outdoor would be the best event for us. Buffalo range or McMiller since it's cheap and you can shoot all day. What weekend is best for everyone? My weekends alternate so let me know what you guys plan a range trip. But if anyone goes to Maxons anytime soon message me and I would definitely be there. Maxons is a little bit misleading because for some reason they don't allow "colt" AR15's but everything else is okay. I don't understand that but whatever, as long as i can shoot mine. I'm planning to get sometime next week to maxons. I'll let update you guys when I go. As for outdoor I'm waiting til it hits the 60's.

As for GAT GUNS...i purchased all my guns there but their range is so expensive and you have to pay per hour. I like buffalo range because there's a pit where you can shoot whatever pumpkins, fruits, stuffed animals. it's crazy. You can also rapid fire in the pit. So event has to be buffalo range in Ottawa.

Well, I pay for an hour, but have NEVER been timed there, or asked to leave. I pay for one hour, and will be in there for 3. They don't care.
