Default Will I rub with 18's with tein s-tech springs?

I'm planning on buying Charlie's rims/tires, but I want to make sure I won't rub...

18x7.5, +50 offset, Toyo T1s 225/40/18
18x8, +50 offset, Toyo T1s 255/35/18

I found several post with rubbing issues with a similar setup. In fact, I pm'ed this one owner who had the same setup told me that she had rubbing issues when she had soft settings on her tein coilovers, but it was fine when it was set to the stiffest setting...and I really don't want to get coilovers right now. And I noticed s-tech springs are very soft...

I think that I need to run a +63 offset (rear) to be safe with the 18's...I would really hate to deal with the rubbing issue as I have a project I'll be starting soon...

I really need your help guys...thanks.

Here's some pics I found:

I drove about 600 total miles on Charlie's setup (from Indianapolis to my house) and then from my house to FWT.

I didn't feel or hear rubbing once on the setup. This is with his car lowered on Mugen suspension.

Yeah, I know, but he has mugen suspension whereas I have tein s-tech's.

I think tein s-tech's are really soft...

His Mugens are set for street....which is soft as MY2000, MY2001 OEM.

Mine are set the same stiffness as well, if you'd like a ride in my car just to compare, try and come out on Thursday to Fuddruckers. You'll be surprised how they ride in street tune....they can also ride just as stiff as you want them (ok, maybe not as stiff as Motons or Ohlins).

IIRC doesnt charlie have his fenders rolled? I know the fronts are - not too sure about the rears.

ryan - rolling your fenders is no big deal and will solve all your probs

then just check where you are rubbing in the rear quarters and just shave abit of the black liner off with a dremel, thats what i did, and it worked just fine..

Charlie's fenders (front) are only rolled because he had a big brake kit in version 1.6 or was it version 1.8?

The front wheels are tucked nicely....the offset of concern that may cause rubbing is with the rear wheels.

You should be fine with no rubbing and no need to roll fenders.

If you're truly worried, why not PM or call Charlie to see if he'll accomodate you to throw the wheels on to test fit them first. Then go from there.
