You should've posted up. I've been sitting on new sets of updated banjo bts for a while. BTW, why did you get new banjo bolts? What year is your car?

bummer. next time WTB section it is. My car is an 01, and thus has the older style bolts.

From what I remember, the bolts needed to be updated for only the cars manufactured in '99, and '00. The only 2001 cars that needed the update where the really early models....there's a VIN range you can check.

As small and easy as the update seems, quite a few people in the past had accidently cross-threaded installing the new bolts. Those threads in the block that hold the banjo bolts are really soft. If you cross thread one of those, you're in a world of hurt of trying to fix it. There's one bolt that's hard to do without a few extensions and a couple of wobblys on your socket, and there's another bolt that really hard to see once you're trying to feed the new banjo bolt into the threads.

Harry (hecash) has done a great write-up with pics on this site for updating the banjo bolts. Make sure you read it first if you're dong the work yourself.

The black car being worked in the pics on the write up on is mine.

From what i have read - the banjo bolts were upgraded mid '02. If for some reason i pull out the first bolt and find it is the "upgraded" one - I guess i luck out.

Thanks for the heads up, I have read a few of the DIY posted around the forums, and am confident I can do this myself. Just threading four bolts - take my time and dont get frustrated.

Cylinder No. 1 is the tricky one as it is partially blocked by the oil pickup assembly.

Mine's going away this weekend too, but my plan this winter is to leave the damn thing alone and not spend any more money on it...yeah, well that's my plan anyway.
I have failed miserably.
