Well,

Depending on our success at selling our slots/fixing cars (not mine, but Phil might get his Miata fixed in time) we may be there. If one of the 'Flying Miata's' goes (I'll have to tell them they have a team name now) then I'll go just to hang out and maybe help instruct if they need it.

So I might come out, but no Hello Kitty. I corded my Hoosiers last weekend too, so I'd be on street tires and fear having to be compared with the champ!

ordered a set of pads for backup. hawk hp. search showed that it ain't the best for track but when i found the parts store i use can get them for me, (they charge me cost. not list price) i figure sure, 40% off list is nice.
and i'll have my super blue fluid the same day.

gonna go buy a tent later.

hmmm...... maybe i can sleep in the trunk if the sky drips with droplets of wet stuff.

5 days!!!

I need to do an oil change and I'll probably change pads now since the next time I plan on driving the car is when I'm on the way to WMHM.

Also need to organize all my autox and track videos and data logs so I can have empty memory cards to bring. And I need to play with camera anlges with my gopro which I haven't used yet!!!

I think I may buy a cheapo tent. Probably a good thing to have, especially if I camp out at Road America for ALMS.

I think I only need to pick up two small things, now. Batteries for flashlights, lantern and air matress pump, and brake grease. I was planning on swapping pads there. I could do it early, but I'm afraid of (1) proper bed-in, (2) new carbotech pads getting too cold on freeway; especially if that 4 letter "r"-word happens...

I put the car on the jack stands yesterday.

Engine oil has been replaced.

Installed new rotors and pads up front.

I was going to install new rotors on the rear but decided there is still plenty of rotor left to wear away, so I will just put new pads on.

Still need to gather camping gear and see if Aero-Bed fits inside the tent.

I will be pulling the trailer for extra hauling capacity but do not think I will load up the stock rims that have Keith's old Hoosier R-comps mounted on them. I would like to burn what rubber is left on those off. I'm concerned about the age of the tires. I think the date code puts them back to 2001.

I wouldn't worry about getting the brakes cold, Kamron. I drove with XP10 (front) and XP8 (rear) for 4 mos straight last summer/fall. Even cold they still grip better than OEM. As long as it doesn't get down to freezing, you'd be fine.

I'd have considered it, if I had a Honda.

Aw, c'mon. If you go to the WMHM.org site you barely even find pictures of a Honda! At least they changed the graphic on thier main page, so it's about 50% Hondas (last year it was all Acuras and Subarus, not a Honda in sight).

Click Register, a BMW. Click the participants link....two Subies. Click the gallery, the top image is an NSX.

And I KNOW they allow Corvettes. Why you ask? Because last year I was pitted next to one (he had the Corvette branded EZ-UP awning and folding chairs to prove it). He was quite the greybeard, which wasn't odd. What was odd was that after his first session he came tooling down the paddock blaring.... The Macarena! I was thinking that HAD to be from a season of Top Gear that I missed.

You can buy my spot, we'll let you. I may even show up to see who's faster, you or Pat
