okay, so i don't have an i-pass. i don't know about illinois too much, but, i went to college in orlando, FL and there are tolls everywhere (sunpass there for them though) and between the 2 years i was there i probably paid altogether $2.75 in tollds and blew through the rest (no front license plate= no ticket mailed to you). my question would be i guess is if i do blow through a couple tolls where lines are longer are there usually cops ready to bust you in illinois or what?

 

I've gone through the IPass before without paying. IIRC you can go through 3 times without getting fined, but if there is a cop there, then he CAN pull you over and ticket you.

You can pay at the toll booth, although the toll is higher; it's cheaper than a ticket.

Once you get to the Lincoln Oasis, there are no more tolls from there, so you won't have to worry about keeping up/.

 

i guess keeping up was my only concern, i dont mind paying the tolls. but with following greg it might be hard XD at least if he's 2 miles up ahead of me i can still hear him now

 

As long as you know how to get to the Lincoln Oasis, you'll be fine.

 

You can also go through the ipass lane and pay later.

You can pay for up to 4 missed tolls this way.

Like Pete said once we get to the Lincoln Oasis (the final meeting spot for IL) there aren't any more tolls. I forget how many we will be going through though between the WI boarder and there. Just make sure you have yourself a map and know how to get to the Lincoln Oasis incase you get caught up in a toll booth.

Or just toss some change out your window as you go through the IPASS lane

my friend riding with me goes to Bristol everyyear (any nascar fans here?) he'll know where the oasis is (he's like 40 so he's been around a while)

sometimes those toll boots can be a bitch, i feel bad for people who get stuck on I-90 by 294, they are waiting 30 minutes to pay their toll and i just fly by in the i-pass lane

 

take your plates off till you get to the lincoln oasis - problem solved
