Default AEM Bypass Valve

I'm planning on purchasing an AEM Cold Air Intake for my car, and I was wondering if I should buy the Bypass Valve too. Does anyone have one? Do you think it really works?

I think it is a waste. I drove all winter with my AEM and had no problems with water getting into the intake. You should be fine as long as you don't cut out the brake ducts. The bypass valve has also been known to be torn up by the throttle body. If you are concerned still about water you may want to look at the comptech unit. Other than that AEM all the way

IMHO Don't waste your cash. You're probably more likely to get struck by lightening than to need this thing.

Don't need unless your doing river crossings. Just don't V-TEC in a downpour and you'll be OK.

Don't buy it, it'll actually make you lose a lot of the power you would gain from the AEM CAI. It's not worth it.

Thanks for all of the information - I decided not to buy the by-pass valve. I did however get a red CAI. It arrived today - YEAH!!!

Matt & Bob -
Would you like to help a fellow S2000 owner out, and install it for me? I can coach you while you do it!!!
