Freeway Racing from a Dig?
This has to be the most idiotic thing I've seen in a while. 10 to 12 cars on Saturday night jumped on I-15 South and STOPPED TRAFFIC multiple times to race from a dig on the freeway.
Has anyone else seen this on KSL?

This type of behavior just makes it harder on everyone who owns a sports car. This is why cops stop us for even the most insignificant (or even nonexistent) offenses.
There must be a way to stop the asinine behavior. It will make life harder for all of us in the long run.
Is anyone here a cop in SLC or a Utah state trooper? What do you recommend?

I wouldn't consider a Jetta, Accord and EVO sports cars though. I have not been hassled once in my S.

It's a Honda, not a Ferrari.
There have always, and will forever continue to be individuals who feel the need to prove something and disregard others safety on the streets. If a person feels they are more likely to be profiled because of situations like this or because they drive a "sporty" car from a japanese automaker, then I would urge them to take a look at their driving habits. Sure, the mentality of those driving economy sedans with loud exhausts and crap taillights might have an effect on you if you drive the same.
I was stating that I have never had a "problem" with the police in my Honda, when I was driving like I should be. When I start driving like I shouldn't, then of course I am more apt to being looked at by the LEO's. Fact is, if you drive faster than the speed limit, even by a mile or two, you are violating the law. If your exhaust does not meet the requirements set forth in certain regs, you are in violation of the law. If you waiver from what the majority has ruled on, then expect to be hassled.
A few weeks ago I went on a drive with various other "sports" cars who all followed the traffic laws. Because of one POS redneck, a sheriff deputy stopped to talk to us at the gas station. He was very professional, nor did he car that we were in Honda's that were modified. What he did care about was the fact that we were respectful, and abiding by the traffic laws. Did I feel hassled, not one bit. I truly wish there were more interaction between police and people like me. Hell, I would be for better educating people, including officers, the difference between them and me. I'm also in favor of adding more officers to the streets to get in our way, and well you know, police things.
Seeing videos like this make me laugh. The media, and person filming drum it up to be more than it is. At most I would look at this as annoying that I am being forced to slow down on the interstate, but it would cause me to drive more defensively and pay attention to my surroundings better. At best one of the dipshits could hit a wall and end his time here. Then if they injure a bystander, all hell will break lose and war will be declared on all street racers driving foreign cars. Oh, but wait, the ones that drive the domestic crap will be okay. But is it seriously worth getting worked up at? I'm not going to change those individuals choices in the video, nor do I care to try, simply because it would be a waste of my time.
They still need a valid reason to pull you over. Cops realize these are isolated incidents. They are normal human beings with common sense... well most of them. I've been pulled over in my civic countless more times than my s2000. The only time I have ever been pulled over in the S is when I was speeding. Of course if you have a loud exhaust and carbon fiber hood they may automatically group you with the accords and jettas............. You may get off the hook when they mistake you for a diesel truck when you wot though...... lol jk

However, I think we both felt that it was well deserved. I'm just glad he let the white guy go.

Wow. I'm surprised that nobody thinks that this level of obstruction of traffic and straight up insubordination shocking.
I was shocked. Still am. Still think it does nothing for the car communities in general. I mean, where do stereotypes come from in the first place? Examples of a few are applied to entire populations.

I would hardly consider this shocking. Maybe I have seen more of what humanity really has to offer than to be appalled by some loser kids.
