Default Just the beginning...or the end of an Era?

After going to MMP and seeing the progress and also adding in the factor that I no longer work weekends, my interest for racing my S2000 on a road course has hit its highest. Today I decided all of the car audio equipment I've put in my S2000 needed to be pulled to lose some heft, and heft is putting it lightly. So...to a new beginning! Here are pics of Day 1:

Nice work Trent!

You'll need to put a wing back on too! Didn't you sell your last one?

My wife is completely and totally embarrased, but I finally have ordered a big a## wing for the trunk of my car. Car needs more downforce on the highspeed tracks ... which I think we can ALL agree MMP will be!

Now go sign up for the NASA event on 20-21 of Mar or the Racerfactory event in June!

I still have the Veilside wing on there, but it doesn't provide enough downforce for a track like MMP. I think I will end up ordering an ARP GTC-200 CF wing. Which tires do you plan to run out there Mike? I will keep my Volk CE28N's as track wheels and order some new wheels for the street if I keep it street legal. This may become a track dedicated car and I will find a new toy for the road.

Nice work Trent!!! That should be a blast to drive on the track, now that you just lost a good 50lbs. I still remember the drive in the parking lot when you first got your turbo installed.

I had no idea the track had grown to that size, that was just awesome! If I wasn't moving I'd probably buy the Bronze package, if I could convince my wife . But if nothing else, I'd love to see a couple of the races before I leave.

The box alone weighs almost 50 pounds, then throw in two 35lb. subwoofers, all the wood floor and carpet and amps they put in! I will weigh this when I am done. I'm going to guess 200lbs. as I have 2 more amps and one more sub to take out!

I went with the APR GTC-200 wing. For wheels I use the CE28s ... for tires I'm running the Kumho 710s. 245f 275r.

Well Day 2 has come to a close and I got a lot done and destroyed quite a bit too.
Here is what it used to look like:

Now:

The subwoofer was even fiberglassed in, so everything had to be destroyed.

Lots of wires:

Where the amps and sub used to be:

Very dusty, resting in the garage:

The good news is that I got it started today. Day 3 won't have much work involved as I won't have any help. As soon as the sound system is torn out, I can start on the coilovers and/or radiator.

Mike, I am going to have to go with a different tire setup as I run a 10mm spacer to clear my Wilwood BBK and a 245 front tire would rub like crazy. Every tire that has a 225 or 235 available, only has 255 as the largest rear in a 17-inch size except the Hoosier A3S05 which I have no experience with.

Yes, a fair number of people are running 235f 275r on track with the Toyo RA1s. That setup requires a lot of negative camber up front and aftermarket front sway bar to get a balanced setup

TC Designs / GFL control arms will help with the front camber.

I may end up switching to the RA1s for track if the Kumho 710s don't give me a least 4 track days. I got about 8 to 10 track days on the RA1s.
