Welcome! Congrats on joining the group. I would suggest getting on Facebook and finding www.facebook.com/utahs2000 and joining up. Events and other things are posted on this page. I know some people are thinking a group drive soon.

i will join that group! thank you, my car is not here yet, it will be shipped here in a few weeks, i need to go back to CA to get a carrier first.

I do have a question for you guys though, what kind of tires do you run through the winter? i have 2 set of 17's, one for track and one for daily, so im hoping a set of regular allseason tires would do the trick...

Thank you

I'd only recommend a studded tire. This last winter wasn't bad, but normally I don't even consider taking the car out of the garage...

Welcome to Utah! We often have a group of S2000 owners who are out for events at Miller Motorsports Park (MMP) in Tooele County, and we usually have a few drives or meets a year. It would be awesome to have you out.

As for winter tires, studded tires are a good option. I do have a friend who used Bridgestone Blizzaks with good success. I've heard the Dunlop Wintersport M3's and Nokian Hakkapeliittas are comparable.
I don't drive my S in the winter, but from personal experience - Do not use all season tires. There were really good quality all season tires on my car when I bought it (I promptly replaced them with summer tires) and I got caught in some light snow/slush on those all seasons. It was terrifying. I slid all over the place, had almost zero control of my car, and was lucky I didn't crash into stationary objects. Will never do that again...

Welcome again, look forward to seeing you around!

Welcome! Definitely a great time of year to put the top down on the S2K and enjoy the upcoming fall color change.

Welcome aboard. I'm just down the street from WSU in South Ogden. As for winter tires I know a lot of folks who run Blizzaks, here and elsewhere. We have a great track an hour or so south- Miller Motorsports).
