Yeah, morons, oops, I mean Mormons (I think it's funnier the third time around) sure are some horrible people.
It's all in your attitude. I've lived in the South where Baptists rule, NW where agnostics triumph, and now here. None of the above bothered me at all. Majority were all very nice people, and of course there are jerks and idiots, but where can you go that you don't get a good mix of them? I'm guessing you're one of those people that has a problem with something no matter where you're at.

We've lived west coast, east coast, mid-west and Utah. With the wrong attitude, you can find issues with people anywhere you live. Favorite place we've lived is right here!
I am a recent DC to SLC transplant. I like it. I have been discriminated against for being Hispanic and non-Mormon but I just let it roll off my back. I am in graduate school and there is plenty of opportunity for employment. I am getting married in June and my fiance is moving out here...I can only hope that she adjusts to the lifestyle because I do like it here.

Come on now. Isn't it the same mistake to get mad at someone for his opinion of Mormons.
Besides, I've met Diablito and he is a nice guy. For me that counts for something. No offense taken here.

Hi,
I am a Mormon and actually was in Salt Lake City last month. Salt Lake is an absolutely beautiful (Clean) city. Salt Lake City isn't as much Mormon as say Provo or other nearby cities but yes, the influence and presence of the church is strong.
I absolutely love the proximity to everything. You are so close to Park City (I had a great time at The Canyons), the Provo River (Tubing), mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and much much more... It is an outdoor lover's paradise and the landscape is so simple to navigate since many of the streets are directional.
If rearing a family is of significant importance to you as well as clean air, friendly people, and a wealth of outdoor activities, SLC or Utah in general is one of the best places you can possible be!

1. summertime is great. warm dry weather. but the predictable clear blue skies might get boring and i get sunburn on my face like crazy with a dark ass tan everywhere else haha.
2. white girls oh my god there are so many to choose from
3. snowboarding. if i can hitch a ride up to the mountains with my budds
4. cheap prices on housing.
5. ninevah dinha on fox news. hot.
dislikes:
1. no diversity/i stuck out like a sore thumb and it was complete culture shock for me. the culture is COMPLETELY different than any diverse community ive been in. they also seem to be easily influenced by shows like laguna beach and the hills, since thats how the younger crowd all try to dress and act like.
2. winter flat out sucks. i couldnt get around since there was too much snow. cold. i worked outside. ive never hated snow until i got stationed in utah for a year. they also like to use salt on their roads instead of dirt from what ive noticed.
3. the people and how willing they are to share their opinion with me. example: "your pants are too baggy you think youre gangster? you need some skin tight jeans and tiny shirt and a girl belt" "you should really look into the church of LDS"
4. DIRTY ASS AIR. i dont know what you guys are talking about when you guys say there is clean air in utah. the summer there probably turned my lungs black. i was in the ogden area i couldnt even see the wasatch mountains because of the smog and smoke in the air. and the salt lake smells like straight up ass on certain days. the smell crept into my dorm room and all there was no escape.
i dunno, i liked it but then again i didnt. not my piece of pie. i did go back and visit the ogden area to see friends and snowboard over spring break recently. fun place to visit. for me it was not a fun place to live in since i grew up in a totally different environment around totally different ppl.
