Default Sub Enclosure

Has anyone had a box/enclosure made locally to fill the space where the tools are? I'm trying to put in a 12" sub and was wondering if anyone would recommend a local stereo shop that is experienced and does quality work.

I don't think he visits here anymore, but carfanatic had a custom fiberglass enclosure with one 12" sub that covered his entire trunk. Sean Dickson had two 10" subs there, PM SDickson to ask him about it.

I don't know any audio shops in Layton, but in Sandy/Salt Lake I could give you some recommendations if you'd like.

Sorry, I meant local to the Salt Lake area. There are no shops in the Layton area and only a few in the Ogden area. Would you recommend Car Concepts(the only JL dealer in the valley)?, they were nice on the phone and have good prices.
Also, I forgot to ask about a good place that does window tint. I just got mine done and it looks like crap. Any suggestions?

I'd like to know about window tint too as I want to get both my S and Civic done soon. Car Concepts is pretty good, never had anything done there, so I don't know firsthand, but I hear good things. I almost always use Innovative Car Audio in Sandy(8600 S. 700 E.). They do great work and are a little pricey, but they get things done right.

Cool, thanks for the info S2k1. I figured with all the work you've had done that your windows would already be tinted, oh well. Anyone else?

Yeah - had both our Jeep Grand Cherokee and our 89 Civic Si done at a place in Layton / Clearfield area called A Hint of Tint. Small shop that does QUALITY work.

A Hint Of Tint
442 N Main St # F, Clearfield, UT 84015
Phone: (801) 776-4020

We've had the tint on for over a year with NO problems - he even did the rear hatch on the Civic in ONE piece. He uses 3M film with a lifetime guarantee.

Can't remember the owner's name, but he should take good care of you.

P.S. If you go with him, please let us know what he charged you - we have yet to get our S tinted. She spends all her time either in the garage or with the top down lately, but tint would help save the interior

Sub Enclosure
I just found this in the Group Buy Forum. Seems like it's what you are looking for.

Yeah, I saw that. But it's not deep enough for the sub I want. Appreciate the help though. I figured there would be more people here with custom stereo stuff, oh well....I'll keep looking.

afetsman,

If you want to check mine out, I live here in Layton, and I have 2 Alpine type R subs in a sealed fiberglass enclosure in that very spot you are looking to put a sub. Since I did it myself, I am not much help in recommending a good audio shop.

S2K1,

Happy 2 year anniversary here at S2KI.

Better than a good audio shop recommendation ... you can just do it for him!
