in utah he said that all shops and retailers closed at 6pm. wow i said what happens when u want to watch a movie or borrow a video/dvd? he said that they tried to go to the malls for some shopping but everything was closed. he said that he stayed in the middle of utah as well.
he also told me about the buying a licence to drink alcohol everyday thing and that the money went to the church or something.

Spoken like most of the others here who have never left the state:
"haha that's some funny stuff. None of it is true. Utah is just like any other city in the US".
Actaully Utah is like no other state here in the US period. I have lived in several and travelled to most...and yes it is ass backwards here. I say that in a good way. Utah is still a place where you can let your kids play at night, where you can leave your car running when you get a quart of milk, etc. You can't say "Oh my God"! here....it is simply bastardized to "Oh my Heck"!. Cosmopoliton magazine is covered on the store shelves to hold back those curvacious models on the cover as well (no where else in the US). I have lived here nine years and have yet to see a drunk driver. The liquor laws are like nowhere else in the US, or any other country in the world for that matter; and I have been to most of those too. Utah does not have traditional bars; where liqour only is served it is called a club, and yes you must buy a membership (i.e. a license) to drink there....guests can buy one one day at a time. And while the church doesn't get money directly, they control the government here, and thus levy severe taxes and inordinate control over liquor in the state (separation of Church and State...a basic premise of the United States, somehow doesn't apply here). Once again, although I am a drinker, I appreciate the efforts of the church. I drink at home for the most part...and once again, not one drunk cited in 9 years! Compare that to California where it was a bi-weekly event. So in summation, Utah is perhaps one of the greatest states in these United States and a great deal of that has to do with the church, it's presence, and it's influence here. If you want a place where everyone is friendly and for the most part gets along, where you can hunt, and fish, as well as anywhere else this country, where you can be proud to be an American and everyone else is too......then you have found Utah.
Utah
P.S. If you'ld ever like to visit send me a PM....the skiing is awesome also!! Chocalate is alive and well here....we also consume more Green Jello then anywhere else in the world (haven't figured that one out yet).

Sorry bro....but your statement was Utah at it's finest. 75% of the residents have never even seen Nevada! I took a coworker to California where he freaked out because the girls at the strip joint didn't have pasties. Pasties went out in the 60's, everywhere except Utah! Your still young and as you come of age you will laugh, as I do, at Utah's conservatism.....for the better as I previously stated
.
I'll drive any weekend just let me know............
Utah
P.S. I'll even buy the beer

The S2k is here. I haven't heard anything from Tim in a good 3 months about the SC so I presume the project has just been scrapped (sucks cause I was first in line). So right now I am just waiting for all my parts to arrive and contemplating shooting some nitrous (Overboost has a kick ass deal on a NX wet 35/50/75 kit for $464).
p.s. the reason no one drinks beer at your house is cause you only got Natty Light and Keystone
