Default Accident Rant Thread

So a week ago today I was driving downtown for an early meeting before work. I was sitting at the light on McGill at Commissioner stopped dead in traffic. Next thing I know, light turns green, I'm behind a few cars so I patiently wait for my turn to go...*SMASH*. Look up into my rearview mirror and all I can see are lights. So I pull over to the side of the road (thankfully the other guy does too). Get out of my S, the driver of the Dodge Ram decided he didn't like my trunk and has smucked it up. I'm totally fine, no injuries as there was barely any room for him to accelerate into me, just a total piss off. I've had my S for less than a year and he smucks up the backend. The bitch of the whole thing is because his truck was so high, he just about cleared my back bumper and just hit my trunk dead on smashing in the H symbol and bowing the metal.

ICBC covered everything and waived the deductible - just sucks that I've never been in an accident before and some clown says, "I didn't see you there" and smucks up my car. At least it's in the shop now getting fixed up. I'll post some pics once it's done (crappy camera phone photos).

Steve good to hear that you are okay. I know it seems minor, but did you consider getting checked at the doctor for internal injuries?

Glad to hear ICBC covered everything...I've had close encounters with my car and bike with those big trucks. They are so reckless and don't pay attention to their surroundings. I've heard the "I didn't see you there" excuse one too many times because they won't admit how bad of a driver they are.

best to go to the doctors, even if you feel fine. Its just procedure incase something does happen (knock on wood). Anyways good to seee that everything is being replaced though

Yeah, i'm totally fine - I heard the crunch of my trunk more than felt it. Kind of made me even doubt if i'd gotten hit or not. Thanks though!

Hopefully all goes well at the shop, should get the car back in a few days.
