Default Alpine deck installed

Thanks to Indescision for the DCI.
The install was not as straight forward as I was hoping, but since when is anything as easy as it should be when it comes to DIY and cars.

I bought a Honda wire harness from A&B $ound but the harness was missing 2 wires. One for the dash control and the other for the mute option.

Luckily, there are 4 rear speaker wires not used if you do not plan on wiring up some rear speakers.

Besides, that everything worked well and the sound is frikken awesome. The stock speakers give off a lot of bass. Haven't had a chance to play with the EQ settings yet, but I think the tweets should be pretty good too since the stock stereo is decent.

But this is all my humble opinion.

Good stuff

You should look into DIY a Lucid like rear speakers setup. Once you find the right speakers cutting the panels won't take more than half an hour.

I probably won't be doing that for 2 reasons. I don't want to cut up the car, and I don't think rear speakers are all that important. For sound imaging, front speakers do all the work. The rears are just a fill but since the car is so small and the seats in the way, there is no point for rear speakers. IMHO.

wow...i just installed my alpine 9853 last friday also...i love this deck...it sounds great with my alpine type-r speakers.

alot of ppl dont like the glidetouch..but im prefectly fine with it..i think its an awesome feature.

make sure to tune the time correction ...makes a big difference...mines set at 1.5ms....factory EQ settings are fine for me right now...but if i have time i might tune the EQ myself i guess...not sure how to but....whatever..lol

i need to find a modifry thing too...for my dash controls on the side.

I have the modifry DCI and an Alpine deck in my car too. I use the controls all the time. I also put in the Alpine IPod adapter which works awesome as well.
