Anyone here have experience pick Wheels in Seattle
Hi.
I am thinking to get a set of WORK wheel XD9 shipped to Seattle in order to avoid the crazy taxes issued in CANADA. And I will pick up them by driving my S to US and installed it in seattle area before heading back. SO I am thinking to go with my friends who has the bigger car which I could put my old wheels in.
What I am worried is that does the CANADA custom service will charge taxes on my old wheels? How can I deal the old wheels with them?
anyone has the same experience? Any common suggestion will help me a lot!!
I appreciate to hear anything from your guys?
regards

i wouldnt even tell them about the wheels, just say you were visitting some friends haha.
i usually just say im visiting a friend in the navy on whidbey island and it always works. *knock on wood*
and go seperately from your friends, dont go across the border together haha.
and if they do figure out that you have old S2000 wheels, just say you paid like 100 dollars for them or some low insane amount.
and also, you want to sell me your stock wheels
?!?!?

I don't like lying, once they figure out I am a liar the punishment will be a hugh...
I doubt that they won't trust 100 bucks on the wheels which is damn cheap!!!
If I got the XD9, I will thinking to sell my wheels too. But two of them on right sides were scratch due to bad parking habit. I will let you know if I am going to let them go.
thx for your advise

They will ask for receipts etc, and where you bought them and a contact number and check sometimes, either the internet or call the person. Trust me I've seen it, had customs call me after a friend brought something back that they accidently brought with them. They aren't all that easy to get by, if you get busted, they will just determine any price they wish, i've got a few friends that work for airport customs and the canadian border service patrol. Don't lie is right, getting busted you will get black listed for 5 years and have to go inside everytime you cross any border. Saving a few dollars and lying over just telling the truth and paying like 50-100 dollars duties and taxes is not worth it unless you are stupid or just a super cheap ass.
Just pay the duties not get hassled.

do you think it's possible I coule ask the seller write down 30% of the actually value of the wheels? such that the receipet inducated 300 bucks, but the actually price I paid in fact is 1000 bucks. So I could avoid taxes for 700 bucks?
that works?
Sure you can do that, but $300, if they check online or find a price when your paying taxes they'll want a LEGIT receipt and sometimes ask why it is such a low value, if you get one of my friends they are car people so they will be like "no way, what is the real value" and if you say its $300 they make it whatever price they feel is retail value" so you will end up paying it at full price anyways.
I know it's in everyones nature to cheat the government and system somehow, so my word of advice Ryan if you want to do that, is probably declare it at 500-600 USD, it is more safe that way, but make sure you have a REAL receipt, nothing photoshopped, and also a legit phone number and make sure whoever sold it to you can verify the amount if customs does call them. (cause they will if you look shady or they feel like it)
But its up to you if you want to risk it just declare 200 bucks or just ship it to canada and declare it for 300 you might be better off doing that.
But it's up to you, and its your wheels and your money at the end of the day. If you feel lucky, take the risk and lie, if not just tell the truth, no point telling half truths with customs. They get lied to like by 50% of the people they see everyday.

Sell your stock wheels to someone in Seattle. Ship your wheels to their house. Go there and do the swap. They get free delivery, you get a mailing address.
Use the money and buy the stock wheels here if you need it later.
