So.... I honked a little too enthusiastically at someone last week and now my horn is partially broken. It works when you press on the left or right side of the wheel, but only silence if I press in the center of the wheel. Apparently I broke the center horn activation button that sits behind the air bag. The dealership confirmed this was the problem. Then (surprise) Pacific Honda told me that the part is $6...... but it cannot (i.e. They won't) order it on its own. Apparently it only comes if you order a brand new steering wheel for $960 plus installation. Then the icing on the cake is that steering wheels are back ordered until April. I told them to shove it. $960 plus labour to fix a broken $6 part that they won't order a new one of?! That's robbery. I don't need a new airbag and steering wheel, I need a two cent piece of plastic.

So, does anyone have or know of a spare steering wheel from a wreck or parted out car, from which I could harvest the $6 horn activation button? I'm not spending $1000+ to fix a horn that isn't even actually broken.

I've spoken to the wreckers on Mitchell island and they don't have a steering wheel.

Please help or point me in the right direction if you can. Otherwise I'm just going to drive around with a partially functioning horn forever more.
