On the weekend drive I noticed that both Ken's (Kenny_son & 604toaster) had countersunk shift knobs on their vehicles. Sitting in Kenny's car, the shifts did feel shorter than my shifter with the stock leather wrapped shifter. I am now interested in getting a countersunk knob for my car as well.

To the two Ken's (and anyone else for that matter) which one do you have? Where did you get them from? Got pix?

I'm leaning towards the Voodoo b/c it seems the most affordable.

I'm not a big fan of the ball shaped shifters so another alternative is to countersink my stock one, like this

But unfortunately I don't have a tap and die set, anyone have one that I could use?

I've always wanted to get myself a countersunk shift knob (ball style), but my car came with OEM titanium version which is of equal if not more in value.

I researched quite a bit before I pulled the trigger to get the Voodoo knob.
I saw it first on Abhi's car when we went on the stonehenge cruise.

I didn't want voodoo knob at first because I thought it would be naked metal/aluminum/titanium. However, Abhi had the one with pearl powdercoat finish. Felt like a jewelery item in the car. Kinda girly. =P

But i liked it cuz it didn't leave that metal smell and didn't get super hot and super cold. I got the Pearl Aluminum one. The titanium one doesn't come in pearl finish. =(

BTW.. i ordered mine from Rick's.

Your shifter knob is probably easier to mod than mine, b/c my knob is 3 pieces wereas yours is one piece. Does the titanium one get real hot and cold?

I saw that one, but I don't think the skunk is countersunk.

hmm i find it good fit for myself.
I've parked outside with top up and it gets warm but never hot.

The reason I didn't get the spun aluminum one is because I've heard the spun finish wears off and turns into more of a polished look.

The clear powdercoat on the Pearl finish makes it almost feel like marble than metal.

Never used a small knob to begin with except for the stock knob. I have big hands

 

hey guys, just thought I'd chime in my 2 cents since I have a voodoo knob as well.

I've never been a big fan of the ball shift knobs either, but I've gotta say the voodoo knob is awesome. Very comfortable in your hand, heavy enough for good throws but not too heavy, and countersunk goodness! I've got the polished black knob and it doesn't get too cold in the winter, although it obviously gets hella hot when it's in the sun.
