Just cutoff the base of the plastic one. It looks like that's what Mike did.

My Canucks car flag... yes, inside the car, haha... only display during top down driving (which fortunately is practically everyday now)

^^^
Just a close-up showing how it's secured. Interlocked releasable ties to the roll hoop, so I can still move the flag back into my office during the day

I am actually also thinking to use some strings combined with the ties to give more play for the flag to really fly.

With the current setup that I just quickly rigged up yesterday afternoon before leaving work, the flag flies quite well when I am moving along at regular speeds

100km/h is not my "regular" speed I could mount my camera up and take the shot or even video clip I suppose but I doubt it's anything impressive, haha... I am going to try the idea to add the string so make it fly more freely, then it maybe worth rolling pix or video

I have thought of using my windscreen camera mount to rig it as flag mount but aborted that idea as it seems there won't be enough vertical support for the flag post... don't wanna risk it flying over and scrapping the trunk

driver side flag broke from turbulence. under 80km/h = good.
Anything above = wooden stick snaps.
The mount holds up very well. It's just that the stick gave up.
I was going to turn around to pick up the flag but was too lazy. =(
Maybe I should make them lower. I'll just be rolling with one flag for now.
Actually did the flag with the snapped wooden stick hit your car and cause any scratch and stuff??

I saw a BMW 635 convertible with a flag at the top of his rear window (obviously he does not intend to go top down), not sure how it remains so stable though.

Today I saw a BMW softtop convertible with a car flag mounted/clipped to the softtop WHILE the window is actually open!!! The car was in motion too, at least 60km/h on Granville St.
