Wow, that's a big difference! I think you would be hard pressed to find an S for less than $15,000. Is it even possible?

Almost impossible to finance private sale. It's one time cash payment that's why private sale saves you money because you don't have to deal with lease and craps. That 2003 S2000 was already a huge steal. To bring down $6k from that price is simply ridiculous. Never put yourself into the position of being "car poor", meaning that you have no other money to spend to go out with friends for food or buy gifts for your gf (unless you stay single). From your budget, I don't think it's a good idea for you to get an S unless you wait a few years later and get an AP1. Even then, I still wouldn't do it because the cost to maintain is gonna rape you like an inmate on Viagra.

You contridict yourself alot

If you get a loan from the bank
pay the guy upfront and pay the bank off
regardless, I doubt the guy is going to finance anything to you
