how hard is it to get working?
I saw a similiar one at A&J but the guy tehre said its quite a hassle to get working since I'll have to take my old key and break it? to get the little imobolizer chip out.. then i have to stick it into the new key?
not sure if this is the same process but I am very intersted if its not a big pain in the ass to get working

It is a big hassle to do it, you have to take apart the JDM key, drill a hole and fit the imobilizer from your OEM key.

For me i wouldnt know how to do it, but if you are good with tools I would go for it!
BTW: there is a link on "how to" for the JDM key

It took me about 4hrs to do.

5 minutes for the dealer
3hrs to drill the bloody hole
the rest driving

it can be done, you just have to put your heart into it

Does the JDM key have a chip in it?
Why don't you get the key's chip added to the brain. I'm pretty sure I read it in the factory manual somewhere .....

Hey Rob, the key doesn't have the chip. What you'll have to do is take the chip out of an existing key, drill a hole in the jdm key and place the chip in there. Of course you could always take the chip out and add it directly to the brain unit but then that would defeat the purpose of having an immobilizer. I think for installing remote starter alarm you will have to go this path.

03s2k, I just moved out recently and don't have the tools with me any more. I'll gladly help if you can get the necessary tools.
