^^^so where is one supposed to take older, yet working electoronics, like CRT TV's, stereo equip., etc...?

lots of options. donate to charity perhaps? salvation army thrift store, something like that, would be my recommendation.

if you find that no charity wants it, and you have no need for it, then i'd simply take it to a depot for recycling. at least this way you know it won't end up in a landfill and pollute the environment

No of course i'm not. Where did I say that?

My comment was simply that if alSpeed2k (or anyone else, including truong) takes his no-longer-wanted electronics to a depot , then it guarantees they get disposed of safely and without harm.
