hmm....I've always wondered if cops have a bias against younger folks in sports cars. I've always assumed they do but I've never had an issue with cops pulling me over for no reason. Going from an MR2 to an S, and I've only been pulled over once [and I was REALLY speeding, so i deserved it.]

My car prior to the S was an unassuming black 05 legacy turbo which really didn't have any problems with the cops. Switched over to the drop top this summer and I've had cops pull up next to me yelling at how fast I was going and that I needed to slow down. I've also had cops go out of there way to tail me and wait for me to do something (I just pull over and wait for them to pass by lol). No one likes a young guy in a red sports car

You are visiting BC?

I read the BC Motor Vehicle Act, and it sounds like the law is that your vehicle must wear all the plates assigned to it by ICBC. It also states that ICBC assigns 2 plates for a car. But if Florida only assigns 1, then you are probably fine.
