Importing s2k into Canada from USA
So, I will be moving to Canada this summer and working on a Visa. When the summer is over, I will be getting a cool new Nissan
Anyways, here is the question... I have a 2001 Spa Yellow S2000, and was wondering what all is required to sell it to a Canadian buyer to make the transaction smooth. I might as well sell it in Canada if I can find a buyer and save both him/her and myself some money, instead of trading it in...
If anyone has any information, please let me know. From what research I have done so far, I have to do the following while entering Canada...
1. The required documentation must be submitted to U.S. Customs at least 72 hours prior to export; and
2. The vehicle must be presented to U.S. Customs at the time of export.
U.S. Customs recommends that you contact the port of crossing directly to determine exact documentation requirements and hours of operation.
I am not just exporting it however, I am taking it as my car while I work in Canada, and will just sell it if I can find a buyer to save me some money versus a trade-in, so does anyone know if it would be required to drive it back to a U.S. customs port to present the vehicle to them? or can paperwork be all done through mail?
Any information would be helpful, and I look forward to spending a few months in Canada, I hear it is beautiful during the summertime
