Default Interior water damage

ok.. my gf left sunroof open last night and it stated rain.

luckly it was only open for 3~4 inches and she found out hour later.

no puddle, no broken electornics but it's just very wet inside.

she tried her best to soak up all the water but two front seats are pretty wet.

considering that it's 2011 c-class with 3000kms on it, she is really chocked and concerned.

is there anything she can to do have it dried properly?

any shops? dealers?

thanks in advance for all the suggestions.

any detailer should be fine. since nothings broken, once the water is dried it probably just needs a good carpet shampoo and interior wipe to get rid of the musty smell. i've been happy with Yaletown Autospa in the past

I recall seeing this moisture absorbing salts called Damp Check at Rona in Richmond, not sure how well it will work in a car though. They have different size packaging , it's like this http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/de...B&merchID=4006#

Portable heater isn't going to get the water that is trapped under the carpet. Been down that road before.

How much water is there in the interior? Start off with a good shammy and a wet vac for the carpets and seats.

Then pop open the door sills and reach under the carpets as best as you can and see how wet it is.
If it is fairly dry, then it should be fine. If it is still wet, you will have to use the heater and try to dry what you can before it starts to mold/mildew.

That damp check only absorbs moisture in the air, so it won't get the carpets dry before they mold/mildew.

AznGuy/ luckly, it wasn't that wet. My gf overreacted a bit.

She said there was about 5mm of rain collected in cupholder, carpet wasn't wet.

Anyways, it wasn't nearly bad as I thought so we just decide to crank up the heat, crack sunroof open.

We also had some Moisture Absorber thingy from HomeDepot, and it helped alot.

Go to an RV shop. They have some stuff that pulls the moisture right out of the air in trailers / motorhomes. This will work well in drying out the interior.

Canadian tire has something called Dri-Z-air; it absorbs moisture. I put one in my car for winter storage and it really works. Don't spill any collected water at the bottom tray as it will stain the carpet.
