thats what im hoping for! i wonder how many are out there because its like next to impossible to find good pics haha

s2000_vtec_mike 02-09-2011 10:09 PM

What i can tell you is be prepared to spend at least $3000 on body work to make everything line up etc. With paint it might be close to 5000 depending on what quality you want everything. If the shop only charges 100 bucks an hour it will take more thne 30 hours to cut body fill fiber etc etc.

ya thats why im trying to figure a few things out haha if its really complex rear fenders and stuff the price will get crazy i think so just trying to get the best guess so far

IvyS2k 02-09-2011 10:24 PM

do it! it will be sick!

pinetreeballer 02-09-2011 10:28 PM

ya it will be sooooooooooooo sick haha i think it looks the best in gpw to

Vik2000 02-10-2011 01:06 AM

It's a sick kit but I'd do it if you have enough money after that on engine mods as well, or the car won't deliver the speed it looks to have lol.

Chow-bot 02-10-2011 04:11 AM

the rear fenders would have to be drasticaly cut, as the body kit would most likely be riveted on.

would also most likely need a custom exhaust.

it would be sick,

but be prepared to be in the 10k range when all said and done. that and the kit would probably take for ever to get here lol.

kenny_son 02-10-2011 06:44 AM

i agree..would be friken sick!!!

think about new set of wheels and widebody (1700mm) version of your wing.

viNz86 02-10-2011 07:00 AM

I hope your pockets are deep haha

It looks like the rear 1/4 panels just sit on top of the stock panel. Going to need to cut 1/4s a lot. If you can do all the paint prep/fitment work you can save a lot of money.

Kit: http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com/catal...ail.php?ID=7057
Wing 1800mm (if not different): http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com/catal...ail.php?ID=7165
Canards: $xxx
Exhaust (if not custom): http://www.bulletproofautomotive.com/catal...ail.php?ID=7166
Wheels: $??? fenders are like 70-80mm wide i think
Tires: $??
Paint/pre/fitment/install: $??

$$$$$$!

It's one of those kits that would look pretty cool if done right, and absolutely god-awful if done cheaply.

The parts alone will be very expensive. And from my own experience with fitting aftermarket stuff, I'd say it'd cost at least 10k, possibly even more. That is, if you want it to look decent. Maybe some shops would do it for less money, but the quality might suffer.

If you're serious about getting a kit like this, have you considered the ASM widebody that Bulletproof is selling? https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=826905
Might be easier to go with that than hunting down the elusive J's kit. :p

i agree you get what you pay for pretty much if im gonna spend 7500 on the kit im gonna do it right but i think the rear quarters just gon on over top not cut and rivet so i think that will be a huge money saver and me with help from my buddy (works at a body shop) can fit most of the kit i think so everytime i see a pic of the kit i like it more and more but if i order it i wont get it until may... haha

ya i would do that wing at some point cuz its sick! exhaust i think i would just get my js moded to work. rims i would probably just run spacers on for now cuz i got advan rg2 x9 up front and x9.5 in rear them buy 2 more 10.5 at some point and move 9.5s to front :)

thanks for all the help guys! keep it coming

Anyone have a guess on how big of spacer I would need for my wheels?

Chow-bot 02-10-2011 12:57 PM

what is the offset?

it says its adds 60mm and can run an 10.5 +18 wide rim.

DDonovan 02-10-2011 01:02 PM

That will look good. Hope you have it ready in time for the Poker Run..., better get working on it! :photo:

I hope so too if I can't drive my car all summer I'll have withdrawals haha

kenny_son 02-10-2011 01:10 PM

you can probably get away with 20-25mm spacer front and rear.

viNz86 02-10-2011 01:21 PM

^I think more.

Just get the kit installed and measure accordingly for best results IMO.

Just curious, what car did/do you drive before this one?

Oh yeah, well you could budget for new wheels and tires or you can get spacers. I recommend H&R spacers, but I believe +25mm is the widest in the DRM, pressed studs.

Project Kics makes wider ones with pressed studs??

Basically $150 - $200 a pair.

Invest the money in RRSP's or something. I cannot even put into words, how much that kit destroys a beautiful looking car.

I may be the only one who feels that way. OK that is all.

Cool, well if you want to go with H&R, I can direct you to local H&R distributor. You'll get them in a few days after ordering - no BS.
