Default Need Windshield replacement

I got multiple rock chips on my windshield, and I went to the shop and they said it needs to be replaced.

ICBC will not pay for OEM Honda windshield because it's 460bucks more than the non OEM brand.

The shop told me Honda don't make windshield, and there is no difference btw a OEM and non OEM beside a Honda logo on it.

Is it worth the money to go w/ OEM? or just stick w/ non OEM?

Thanks.

OEM will probably be my #1 choice. If not, then get something with a brand name like PPG. I have PPG for my windshield and it has been fine except for 1 big chip, which is not the glass' fault.

IMHO, OEM sucks, it seems too soft. The windshield on other, older, vehicles in our household is in much better condition than my S2000.

Do you notice any difference for your PPG windshield?

I have PPG as well. No issues.
I found OEM pitted too easily.

I believe OEM glass is made by Asahi.

As far as aftermarket, I'd recommend either PPG or Pilkington. My EP3 had Pilkington aftermaket glass, and it was fine. Pilkington supplies factory glass for BMW as well as several other brands.

Either, just make sure the shop tells you in advance the brand of glass before they install.

I like how your actually using the search function instead of making a new thread. I'm also interested in this info, as my glass has a chip...will probably go through icbc though as it is only 200. I'm guessing it's best to ask what the brand of the glass the shop is going to be using before actually doing the work
