Official Introduction
Hey guys!
Well my turn to shine has finally arrived. As of this morning I am now the proud owner of an '00 Silverstone S2K with the split red/black interior. After much searching, test driving, agony and excitement I am the new owner of "swoosh's" baby.
I've been lurking and posting on these boards since about January trying to find just the right car and I feel that patience and perseverance finally paid off. I look forward to getting to know many of you in person, and going for lots of top down drives throughout the summer. Thanks to all of you for your help and support in joining the club.
Warm regards,
Dan aka Qorn

Hi there. If you don't mind me asking how much did you pay for your car? I'm trying to help a friend pick up an S and it is a little frustrating. Some people seem to think they are selling a ferrari and are totally unrealistic about selling price.

As for MV, from my experience as a professional buyer, you get what you pay for. Some people will try to get an arm and a leg for their junky cars, but for the most part, the cheaper the car the shittier the cars will be.
For example, Miracle auto had an 00 and a 01 for sale. Both with low Km's and the asking price was pretty reaonable as they claimed no accidents on both vehicles. Upon further inspection, you can see clear coat over spray, maintenance required lights, and poorly done body work. On one of them, the right side said S2000 while the left side is 2000S.
Keep in mind, these cars were $50K new, so it is not too unreasonable for people to be asking for $35K for a GOOD conditioin S.
Edwen I totally agree with you, a good condition S with no accidents and low km's should fetch a way higher value than a high km s2000 with accidents or previous body damage and that has been heavily modified or has had some shady bodywork done on it. Not saying modifications are bad, just saying you have to look at the owner to see if they really knew how to take care of their car. Dan made a wise decision over whatever else was out there for sure, he took his time and looked for something that suit his needs. Some of the 2002-2003 ones out there have been in pretty bad accident or have not been taken care of as well as they should of been. some people just like to throw away their money
or abuse their cars
