Default Rattling?

From what I know, convertibles tend to rattle more than regular cars. Has anyone here had their s2k since new? Does it rattle when it's new too?

if your soft top is rattling...its most likely your soft top strikers the metal piece that the hooks hook onto.

you can order new ones..they are about 60 dollars each. im ordering some soon to replace mine.hopefully it'll help with the wind noise at highways speeds

I got it brand new. No rattles at all when it's new. But after 3yrs, yeah some rattling noise here and there.

I've had the top rattle occasionally -thats good to know about replacing the strikers, thanks Kenny.

I've hit a pothole and caused a rattle in the right rear -that is until i retightened the spare tire retainer

They are the pieces that your hooks (that you use when closing the top) hook in to. If your car is mid 02 and beyond, they should have the new strikers. The "new" strikers are the ones that come with the hardtop.

I would also take the advice about the spare tire nut. I had a rattle that drove me nuts and then finally checked the spare, and sure enough it was loose.

I also find that occassionaly the passenger seat belt buckle rattles if it is in a wierd position.
