Default Replacement wipers

I have searched and can't find a DIY on replacing windshield wipers. The picture on the new wipers shows the new ones simply slipping onto the arm and snapping into place, however it looks like the wiper arm on my car is all one piece.

Has anyone changed wipers on thier car (entire arm not just blade)? And if so can you tell me how you got the OEM's off?

I have been very happy with the OEM blades. Everytime I buy just the refills from the dealer and they install for free, generally. Never really found any aftermarket blades that were as good, or better.

I already bought them but it doesn't appear they are the same as the ones I bought go on a straight arm and it looks like ours has a hooked arm.

I have Piaa silicone wipers and they are way better than wipers that I have ever tried. 3 years old, and they still kick ass in the rain.

Not to be rude but I'm not looking for an opinion on wipers, I am looking to find out how you remove the original wipers???

There is a release tab you need to push as you simultaneously remove the blade from the arm.

Sorry.

Push the tab on the bottom and the wiper will slide out towards bottom.
You will see the wiper arm has a hook on the top.

It is the hook I'm concerned about. My replacements don't have a hook they are straight. I think I purchased the wrong ones. There are two apparently (hooked and straight).
