Return of the Captain!
So you've all seen the last thread about Captain Gay Cat and her CF fenders installation. For those who missed it, here is it, its a decent read so please do check it out.

So the weather's been getting warmer, so it is finally time to attempt to install the doors. I know I previously said I wouldnt touch it and I would only send it to a bodyshop. But with a professional bodyman offering his help, I've decided to give it a try and tackle this job in my own 'installation bay' aka home.
*Special thanks to Bill Gor from Autosense for taking a whole day off his busy schedule to come help me with this project
*
So anyways, like most of my other posts, I'll keep the talking to a minimum, and pictures to a maximum.
Here are the snaps.
PLEASE EXCUSE MY DIRTY/MESSY GARAGE, ITS STILL IN WINTER MODE
Review comes after the pictures.
Stock door has been removed and put aside. (it weighs a TON!!)

Driver side door has been fitted on, just a bare door for now, no point transfering anything over form the stock door if the door doesnt fit well, right?
Everything fits great so no worries.

Other side's OEM door has been placed outside under the tent. Old tires makes good tables.

Passenger side CF door fitted nicely too.

Door handle, opening/closing mechanism transfered over from the old door, and random clips for speakers and door panel too.

Me slacking off as Bill Gor marks the points to drill to install the mirrors.

Brand new CF ready to be drilled.

Random shot of where the door handle will go.

Stock glass is placed safely on the field of poop (I let my dogs run free in the backyard, and the grass is their bathroom). I did find a poop free spot to place these glass though.

Drilling holes for mirrors.

Close up.

Done.

On the passenger side of the car, you can see me using my little fairy mechanic hands to reach inside the CF door, to screw the mirrors in from inside the door.

FRP Splinter - 1
Little Fairy Hand - 0
Pwnz0red!!

At least the mirror is on!

The dream team, placing the glass in the new dour.

What do we find? Pedo Bear's friend, his name is 7bear (inside joke, in Cantonese 7 = chut, chut-bear).

Who's Pedo Bear? Refer to this:

Window and un-named plastic piece back on the new door, door panels ready to go on.

After that we realized that it was getting late so I ditched the camera and just rushed to finish the installation (we worked from 2pm-10pm). Here's the finished product (ignore the pizza and drinks on the picnic table wing)

I will have better pics posted in a couple days.
The installation went pretty smoothly, I was glad that the doors fitted so well, knowing most CF parts never fit perfectly. We did have to do a bunch of modifications to the holes for oem clips, but that was no big deal. The weight difference is HUGE (no, I did not weigh them for I don't have a scale at home), but I could feel the difference in weight just from driving the car up the driveway.
Driving review, from my house to dinner (10 mins drive in the city)
The car feels alot better to drive, through a turn you can feel that there is alot less weight to toss around. I can easily carry quite a bit more speed through a corner. The car accelrates alot quicker as well, due to there's less weight to haul around. We DO need to figure something out for side impact though, for the new doors do no have side impact beams and yes, it is dangerous. But other than that, they're SHWEET!
Thanks to:
Bill Gor from Autosense
Jimbo for taking some of the pics, and installing that ONE speaker, and picking up the pizza.
Ah fun for coming to lend us a hand later on in the night
The mission was a great success.
Hope you guys enjoyed.
