Default Soft Top TSB

I have the cut on the rear passenger side. I went to Carter Honda the service manager said he would need to talk to Honda Canada. After a few days he called me and told me since my car is out of warranty the TSB may not apply. He recommended I take it to Pacific Auto Trim on W 5th off Cambie. He was not clear if Pacific Auto would repair it and Honda would pay for it but it pretty much seemed they were not willing to replace my top. Has anyone here have gotten their top replaced? My car I bought used in May it is an 2005 with 40,000km.

You should contact the district parts and service manager or the Zone office directly.

No luck I called Honda customer service he said that is a US TSB and does not apply to Canada. He said goodwill is for VIP customers only.

My car was originally bought at Carter Honda. I posted this reply in s2000 talk under another thread.

I am dealing with the same problem. I went to the dealer first where the original owner bought the car. The service manager told me to take it to an upholstery shop to have it patched. I called Honda Canada about the TSB they bascially told me no goodwill because I bought the car used and is out of warranty. My car is an 05 with 40,000km about 25000 miles on it. He also said that the US TSB does not apply to Canada. He said goodwill is considered for certain customers only meaning if you are a VIP then they would fix it. I asked him where can I see the Canadian TSB he said it is not for customers. What if I went outside of Honda to get a new top and it keeps getting cut? How would I know how to permanently fix it from getting cut if I can not see the TSB? Sorry for the rambling post but this makes no sense. Thsi should be a recall not a TSB. What are my chances in small claims court?

Wear and tear is one thing but if the top is cutting into the top, then that's not wear and tear. My top has some sharp edges that was cutting into the top. I found all the sharp edges and put some tape over it. No more cutting now.

I understand honda is in the business to make money but all this bs about how it's only USA tsb is bs.

They're not fixing defective tops because of one thing. Money.
If you create enough of a disturbance, they will fix it for you because it would be worth their money to stop us from nagging.

My advice. Keep bugging them and make sure you get communication up the chain. If they say no then tell them you're going to call every single newspaper and media group and tell them about this and go on every single forum and post this up.

Media is power. No big company wants to be called "unresponsible."
If you can get this story on the media. ie. Olsen on your side.
I guarantee you they will fix it for you.

They just figure we would stop calling and bugging them after they say no a few times. Saying "no" is a lot cheaper than replacing your top.
But giving you a new top is a lot cheaper than having negative coverage about Honda.

Goodluck!
