bump stop is exactly what it does. Its only purpose is to stop the piston from bumping the the bottom of the strut

Really? This is intresting because cutting the bumpstop on a tsx I recently did dropped it 1 finger gap.
I installed them and about a week after the owner really didn't like the front sitting higher then the rear.
Cutting the front bumpstops lowered the front

So I'm a bit confused. I don't really want to argue and defend my point because i honestly don't know. But it worked for a lot of the cars i've seen

on some cars (eg. miata), the car sits on the bump stops. by sitting on the bumpstops, the suspension starts off as soft then gets progressively stiffer as the bumpstop compresses...

ok... I had a chance to check the springs today.

turns out.. springs ARE installed correctly.

now I'm even more confused...

I'll try pre-loading suspension.

for the front, do I loosen bolts for just upper A arm? or bottom one too?

Yeah, same here. They told me they never do, no need, guy at the alignment place thought that was crazy. For the price they charge you can't go wrong. I paid the alignment place a few bucks to go around and re-torque everything and it is allot easier cause the car all four wheels on the the rack. I can give you their info if you like, they seem like some good guys. Dropped them off a case of beer after
