WTB: S2000 for $30-$35k
Hello everyone, I just joined s2ki. I have always wanted a S2000 since I was a teenager. Now that I am financially stable and I am ready to buy my childhood dream.
My budget is between $30000 to $35000 for a stock S2000 or lightly modded one, preferably no silver or black. Please let me know what you have. Have a great day! |
That is enough cash to get whatever you want.

Would you be willing to bring in a US car from the East Coast if you could get a one-owner, dealer maintained, bone-stock, OEM, mint, like new, unmolested, NFR (red)/over black 2004 with 20,223 miles? Haven't decided if It's going to be sold yet, probably in mid-to-late June, but considering it for that price range assuming your figures are CDN (or even quicker sale if they are USD!). Can't PM you so text me your email to six-six-7, seven-8-six, one-8 two seven. Like you, I'm old and financially stable and love these toyz! (Not the car in my signature, handling this for a local 70 year old friend/owner who has "aged out" and can't drive any more).

$30 to $35k is in CAD. I thought it is obvious as I am posting at the Vancouver section. Sorry for the confusion.
I am hoping to buy one locally if possible. Colnagotifosi, I will keep yours in mind. Thanks! |
I'm considering upgrading to a newer S2000, in which case my current 2004 AP2 with 51,000 on the clock will be for sale.
PM me if you'd like to discuss. |
in USD you are at 23K to 27K in round numbers, that is still alot. You did not specify year or mileage. YOu can get AP1s in the low teens. A low mileage AP2 can be found in the low $20s. The more mods the lower the price, bone stock brings the highest price.

DaGou is right about the pricing. One thing I don't know is the cost of "Canadianizing" the car (things like daytime running light conversion kits) and going thru a long checklist of requirements laid down by Transport Canada, but any Honda dealer or registered/approved mechanic can do that for you.
Look Here ... and Here ... to learn about that process. The big thing to look out for is a clean record, which is not always easy. This applies to US or Canadian cars. Many accidents go unreported, and in some states even rebuilds slip thru the CarFax reports. Having said that, there are likely some really good deals to be had south of the border, but it takes a lot of poking around to make sure the car has a clean record. |
FYI 2006-2009 AP2's do not need anything as they have DRL's already

So AP2s from 2006 onward probably just need to make it thru the multi-page inspection checklist, which should be a no-brainer if the car is in good shape and stock. Nice! |
S2kcanuck, I can't PM you because I am a new member. Any other way to get a hold of you?
Thanks guys for the information about importing from US. It is very helpful. My preferences are below: Late Ap1 or early Ap2 No mod or lightly modded White, yellow, blue, no silver and black One owner Less than 100k kms No accidents or minor accident |
