the car was bought in Louisiana, but has been registered in California for the last 3 yrs. the guy is selling it with 70K miles, but doesn't have service records. During the car's ownership in Louisiana, Katrina was in effect, but the title is clean. Car looks clean from pics, but what should I look for as far as any flood damage? I have never dealt with something like that. Like I said, title is clean.

Also, is there any way to tell if maintenance was done on time without any records? I mean, he could have just done it himself or some private garage.

Where in SoCal are you located? Let me know and I can refer you to a shop that would look at the car. It's definitely worth the fee they would charge to do this. You might even want to ask the seller to split the fee with you!

I would definitely make a trip out to Mid Valley Auto in Winnetka and ask for Tony Fuchs. He knows our cars inside and out. Sorry for the late response by the way.

 

no worries. i looked at the car anyway and it has had some major body work done before. never even bothered driving it. i'll keep that place in mind nonetheless.
