Owners handbook
Do you want the hard copy for keeping the car original? Or just want the information? (You did look in the secret compartment, right?)
I'm convinced the 2009 cars are merely left over 2008s and there were only 350 or so imported to the US. Not sure about the UK. Anyway the books will be rare and in the US at least 2007-2009 will be darn near identical. 2006 too except here it lacks the tire pressure monitor.
The North American 2008 manual is at this link.

Hi Chuck,
Really appreciate the reply, yes I’ve checked the secret compartment (thought that was a joke before I investigated !), thanks for the link, it at least points me in the right direction, I bought the car last week (always wanted one) and I’m really enjoying it, although had to replace the windscreen washer pump already, I’m sure with the link and the knowledge of you guys on here I’ll be ok,
many thanks,
Kev
PS,
It looks like a (Haynes ?) workshop/maintenance manual is non existent ??

I got no owners manual with my car as well. I downloaded a copy but, like you, thought guys were teasing the new guy about a "secret compartment." Found it. And found the manuals all nicely stored in what looks like the OE Ziplock bag.
First rule about the secret compartment is no one talks about the secret compartment. *
I've never seen a Hayes (sic?) manual for our cars. The factory (US) Service Manual is 2000 pages long (!) and available at the same link area above. Cars with the steering wheel on the wrong side will have subtle differences.
I have the paper manual but the lack of an index makes the PDF version very handy. There's a CD or DVD of the UK manual floating around, but I've lost the source.

* My only traffic stop in this car (speed, of course) and I needed to exit the car to get at my wallet and find my "papers." Swore the policeman to secrecy as I opened retrieved the papers from the secret compartment. He thought that was so funny he told me to look contrite as he wagged his finger at me -- his boss was in the patrol car -- and sent me on my way still laughing.
