1. Clean freshly rebuilt diff
OR
2. Clean diff suitable for rebuild this winter

Located in La Crosse WI area, but will pick up from Mpls to Milwaukee.

 

Curious what's different between the early and late differentials. Internal parts have the same part numbers.

The carrier bearing end caps on the ap2 are a slightly different shape - some would argue have a little more material, which is a stress/flex/weak point on these diffs - hence the aftermarket stackable reinforced end caps ala Comptech etc.

 

I'm guessing then that with the proper parts either could be rebuilt to fit the other.
