So lastnight I was working on my car when I noticed that cam cap number 3 had a small crack forming on it. So I pull the cap to To take a look and sure enough the cap breaks. So I think to myself no big deal I will buy another cap.....WRONG!!! The honda dealer told me that you cant get just that cap that you had to buy the whole head. So I told him that couldnt be and that that was crazy. So I had him fax me over a copy of the page that breaks down the parts so I could tell him which one It was. I got the fax and sure enough it showed that the head came with the caps and no other way. Do you guys have any Ideas? I dont want to repair It and put It on my car and on top of that Thats not even a option because of where It broke. Do any of you guys have a spare junk Head to where I could buy the cap from you ?

The problem is that you will need to limebore the cam cap to fit your cam because they are bored to specs. If you need a complete set of cam caps with the rocker arms complete I could sell you and extra set i have for a good price.,pm me if interested

 

I have cam towers and caps 1 through 5.. how ever five is effed up lol..
I can sell them to you if you'd like. I would think you would be able to use just the number 3 cam cap and tower..

Fierc3 - I have run into the same problem with number 4 though luckily mine isn't broken just hairline crack. If killabee doesn't get yours and you still have them i will purchase them from you ASAP. i just need 4 but understand you don't want to split the set up so let me know a price and see if we can work it out. The lower 5 and upper 5 are a matched set. If you mix and match, the cam will become tight in the one unmatched bore and you will likely fry the cam and bore.

and use the parts from it.. i don't think the head will bolt up.. but you can flip it (sell what you dont need) when you strip it (take everything you need from it..)

I thought that these were made like the rods where they are bored and then split into two pieces making each piece unique. Is this correct Bill?
