Default 10 year old semi slicks

A set of once used semi-slicks popped up for sale on a set of AP1 rims. Unfortunately the tyres are 10 years old but have been stored in a cool, dry place.

Have heard (and seen) people use old slicks before. Wanted to see everyones thoughts on using these on track from a safety (not 10/10ths performance) perspective?

Thank you.

you're probably better off with a good street tire (performance + safety)

10 years is too long, they might start cracking. If they start leaking air that not so bad. Imagine if they pop while you driving.

The newest generation of street tire will outperform (both wet and dry) thos 10 year old semi-slicks IMHO and be safer.

Don't buy the wheels for the tires and don't pay for the tires, consider them rim protectors and nothing more.

Oh boy. Safety first, get new tires.

They might look fresh but they won’t grip and give you zero heads up before they break loose.

Scary ****
