the way the wheels are designed allows s2k owners to run them with larger lips because the mounting surface sticks out a bit as the face is not flat. you still need high offsets if you want to run a wide width
So technically i can put a pair of ccw lm20's with a 3-4inch lip on a s2000, AS LONG AS I have a high offset? correct me if i am wrong!
From geometric standpoint...that doesn't make any sense.
I guess the real question im asking is, Does offset have absolutely anything to do with the rims lip size?
not really...you can design a +0 offset wheel with no lip at all!
can you make a rim with a +0 offset that has a lip? sorry for all the questions, Its so hard to shop for rims for the s2000 because of the stock rim offset. I'm trying to avoid rolling my fenders but i want some aftermarket rims but it doesn't seem possible. Looks like I might have to go with a fender roll
Dude you've got A LOT of options. I dont see why people get stuck on one set of wheels and do everything in their power to make them fit when they don't.
Well to clear it all up, i emailed ccw about there lm20's and pretty much said the specs that I wanted wouldn't work. Here's what I asked 17x8 225/45 +55 offset for the front and 17x10 265/40 +65 offset for the rear. and according to the wheel fitment guide those specs are recommended. Here is the link to the wheel fitment guide https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/342...fitment-guide/
This setup should work. People have fit a 275/40 pretty easily with the 17x10 +72 and even 17x9 +63. A guy even put a 305/35 tire on the 17x10 +72 wheel with fender rolling. A guy in the R&C thread is running a CCW 18x11 in the rear with a 295/30/18 tire and no overfenders. Also, the 17x8 +55 is the same offset as the stock AP2 front, but because it is an inch wider, the EDGE OF THE WHEEL will be pushed out about 13mm and the tire will stretch a little bit more than a 225/45 on a stock 17x7 wheel. So I don't know why they say it wouldn't work. Either way, these wheels sound a lot better than 16x0 +0...
Well after talking a little bit more with the guy from ccw he told me I can do a 17x8 front running a 225/45 and 17x10 rear running a 265/40 easily with no fender rolling as long as the car isn't lowered some crazy amount.

I'm pretty sure you can fit a bigger tire than a 225 on the front with minimal to no fender work. I'm running 18x8.5 +48 in front and i fit 235/40/18 tires with no rubbing at all. If i dropped the camber from 1 degree to 2 i could easily fit a 245 without rubbing.

I like the stock suspension an ride height of the s2k, So with that said I don't plan on doing any lowering or adjusting the camber. I think a 225 is perfect for the front. If I ever decide to go with at least a 275 in the rear then I might consider a 235 up front but until then im going to stick with what I have in mind for now. Thanks for the tips though I appreciate all the help.
